  • Where is this event located and what are the hours?
    Coastal Christmas is held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and we are open on December 13-15, 20-23, and 26th. The hours of operation are 4 PM - 9 PM. In order to ensure a positive experience for our guests, the Holiday Light Trail will not open until dusk each day. Del Mar Fairgrounds 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd Del Mar, CA 92014
  • Can I purchase a ticket at the event?
    There is no box office at the event. All tickets must be purchased online​​.
  • Do I need to print my ticket?
    Both digital and paper tickets will be accepted.
  • What’s included in the General Admission ticket?
    General Admission tickets include: Admission to the festival Access to our Holiday Light Trail Photos with Santa & friends Live music/entertainment Skating, Frosty’s Fun Zone, and Food & Drinks must be purchased separately.
  • What time does the Light Trail open?
    In order to ensure a positive experience for our guests, the Holiday Light Trail will not open until dusk each day.
  • Will Santa be there?
    Santa and his friends will arrive at 5 pm each night. He will be there every night except for December 26th, when he'll return to the North Pole and his friends will take his place. You will be able to take photos with them using your smart phone.
  • I want to attend on a Promotional Night, (Military Appreciation, Teacher Appreciation, etc.) do I need to get a ticket?
    On our promotional nights, only the applicable person will get in free and they do not need a ticket. For example, active military and Veterans will get in free on Military Appreciation Night, but all other party members will need to purchase tickets. Just bring identification as proof of your military status, employment, etc.
  • Is the venue ADA-compliant?
    Yes, the venue is ADA-compliant.
  • Is there parking available?
    Yes, paid parking is available on-site. You can purchase a Parking Pass in advance by clicking the Buy Tickets button at the top of the page.
  • How do I purchase skating?
    Skating must be purchased at the festival unless you book an Igloo or Fire Pit Table Reservation. Skating must be selected as an add-on for these reservations. Skates are included in your purchase.
  • What is the Holiday Wine Walk?
    The Holiday Wine Walk is the newest addition to Coastal Christmas in 2024! Holiday Wine Walk ticket holders will receive a wine-sampling cup and a map of wine-tasting stations to stop at throughout the venue. Explore the magical festivities while you sip on 8 different wine samples! This ticket includes access to our Holiday Light Trail.
  • What is Glice Skating?
    Glice is one of the world leaders in the development and production of synthetic ice and is trusted by professional ice hockey players and figure skaters around the world to use for training in the off-season. Glice synthetic ice is as close to real ice as it gets, without the negative impact on the environment caused by keeping a traditional ice rink frozen in warm weather. It’s the perfect eco-friendly skating rink to use in beautiful Southern California.
  • What is Frosty’s Fun Zone?
    Frosty’s Fun Zone is our play area for kids. It has inflatable bouncers and slides as well as other activities like rock climbing. You must purchase individual ride tickets or an unlimited wristband in order to play in Frosty’s Fun Zone. There will also be specialty attractions/rides that are not included with the wristband and need to be purchased separately. Included with the Frosty's Fun Zone wristband: Ultimate Bungee Coconut Tree Climb Swashbuckler Swing/Slide Laser Tag Camo Obstacle course Bungee Basketball Bedrock Playtown Frosty’s Fun Zone and the specialty attractions/rides are not included with a General Admission ticket.
  • What kind of food/drinks will be available?
    We will have local food vendors offering a variety of food options. We will also have holiday-themed cocktails, beer and wine, hot chocolate and apple cider, and water.
  • Something came up, can I use my tickets on a different day?
    Yes, if you are unable to attend on the date on your tickets, you can use your tickets on any date that we are open. This excludes Igloo and Fire Pit Table reservations. These reservations are only good on the date and time you selected during checkout. Holiday Wine Walk tickets can only be used on the following dates: December 13-14 December 20-21 All sales are final and there are no refunds unless you buy Purchase Protection.
  • What is the refund policy?
    All sales are final. This is a rain or shine event and there are no refunds. The only exception is if you add Purchase Protection to your order.
  • Can I have a Private Party at Coastal Christmas or a Corporate Event?
    Yes! We recommend our Private Events & Holiday Parties for large groups seeking a place for a school field trip, corporate event, etc. For smaller parties (10 - 20 people), Igloos are the perfect way to celebrate families, birthdays, holidays, and other occasions. Please email jenny@cbfproductions.com for a personalized quote for a larger party.
  • Do you offer Group Sales?
    Yes! Group sales are available and discounted for tickets of 20+ of the same ticket type. Please email jenny@cbfproductions.com to see group rates.
  • Do you offer Fundraisers?
    Yes! We offer fundraisers for groups, schools, and organizations wishing to raise money by setting a night to come. Please email jenny@cbfproductions.com for more information about fundraisers​.
  • How long does the experience last?
    It's really up to you, once you walk through the gates you are free to stay as long as you like.
  • Can I take photos or record the experience?
    Feel free to take photos and share them. When taking photos, please make sure not to disturb other customers. Professional equipment and tripods are not permitted.
  • Will restrooms be available on-site?
    Portable restrooms will be available.
  • Do I need to arrive at the start of my scheduled session?
    It is recommended that you arrive earlier than the time stated on your ticket, however, you will be allowed to enter at any time on the day you purchase. Exceptions are Igloo Rentals - we recommend that you arrive 15-30 minutes prior to your reservation.
  • Can I bring animals?
    We love animals but unfortunately, we cannot welcome them to this event. Only service animals will be allowed. ​
  • What items are prohibited at this event?
    NO Flash photography NO outside food or beverages allowed (except for sealed/unopened water bottles) NO camel packs NO backpacks NO drugs & drug paraphernalia NO coolers allowed NO knives/weapons All bags will be checked by security. NO Gang-related Colors or Badges NO Footballs, Baseballs, Frisbees or Playing Catch inside event​​​
  • What is Included with the Igloo/Fire Pit Table Reservation?
    Igloo Reservations include: Admission for 6 Fenced-off seating area with furnished Igloo and fire pit table Server for drinks Access to the Holiday Light Trail Live Music/Entertainment Photos with Santa & Friends Fire Pit Table Reservations include: Admission for 4 Fenced-off area with seating and a fire pit table Server for drinks Access to the Holiday Light Trail Live Music/Entertainment Photos with Santa & Friends All extra guests in your party are welcome but will need their own General Admission ticket.
  • Can I come before my reservation or stay after it has ended?
    Yes! You may come any time during operational hours and enjoy the festivities as long as you’d like. You must exit your reserved area at the end of your reservation window. Please check in at the reservation stand at your reserved time. You should also look into spending some time in Del Mar Village before or after your visit to Coastal Christmas.
  • What if I’m late for my reservation?
    Your reservation is only valid during the time frame listed on your ticket. To maintain the quality of the experience for other guests with reservations, your reservation will start and end at the time listed. We cannot allow reservations to start early or extend late. There will be no refunds for late arrivals.
  • What if I need to change my reservation?
    Due to limited availability, all reservations are final. We will try to accommodate changes, however, please note they are final and cannot be refunded without Purchase Protection. Please email us with any questions or changes needed. We cannot change or reschedule these reservations less than 48 hours prior.
  • Can I reserve skating?
    Everyone can skate! Igloo Reservations and Fire Pit Tables can add skating with their reservation during checkout.
  • What if it rains?
    This is a rain or shine event and there are no refunds unless you add Purchase Protection to your order. There are no refunds whatsoever less than 48 hours prior to your reservation.
  • Are food & drinks included in our Igloo/Fire Pit Table reservation?
    No food or drink is included with your reservation. You’ll have the option to add a charcuterie box or hot chocolate to your reservation at an additional cost, otherwise, you’ll need to go and purchase food from one of our food vendors on-site. You will have a server who will take your drink orders during your reservation window, but these drinks will also need to be purchased.
